Thrilled to share a project that has been close to my heart!
Together with Malta International Contemporary Arts Space (MICAS) and one of the world’s leaders in art publishing, Skira Editore, I had the great privilege to work on the editing of Joana Vasconcelos: Transcending the Domestic, the official catalogue and publication celebrating the landmark exhibition that opened MICAS – Malta’s new contemporary art space – with the unforgettable work of Vasconcelos.
We worked with the visionary artist herself and Atelier Joana Vasconcelos to ensure this book documents not only the vibrant, provocative, and poetic installations Vasconcelos is known for, but also to show Malta’s cultural ambitions and artistic future.
Huge thanks to Skira Editore, the team at MICAS, Artistic Director Edith Devaney, and The Guardian art critic Jonathan Jones, and all those who made this publication a reality. It’s not every day that you get to help tell the story of an artist who literally stitches together tradition, feminism, and futurism into monumental works of art.
The book is on sale in Malta only at MICAS (https://micas.art/)
